Camp Pendleton Marine Killed In Afghanistan

Camp Pendleton Marine Staff Sgt. Jonathan D. Davis, 34, was killed in Afghanistan on February 22. He died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, according to the Department of Defense.

Davis was a motor transport operations chief assigned assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 32nd Georgian Liaison Team, Regimental Combat Team 7, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

The DoD identifies Davis as being from Kayenta, Arizona. According to Camp Pendleton Patch, Davis enlisted in the Marines on October 21, 1997.
