The KPBS One Book, One San Diego selection for teens is Trung Le Nguyen's graphic novel, "The Magic Fish." It's a powerful book that weaves traditional fairy tales with the story of a Vietnamese American teenager who struggles to find the words to tell his mother who he is.

One Book, One San Diego has announced the selections for the 2022 region-wide read: “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett has been chosen for adult readers; “The Magic Fish” written and illustrated by Trung Le Nguyen for teens and tweens; and “We Are Water Protectors” by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade for children.

KPBS and Girl Scouts San Diego are hosting a series of special storytimes and workshops tied to the 2019 One Book, One San Diego selection for kids, "Dreamers," by Yuyi Morales. The first 60 participants to each workshop will receive a free copy of the book. All are welcome, but registration is encouraged and space is limited.
