I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant - Military Style (Video)

She Didn't Know She Was Pregnant

"I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" has got to be one of my favorite television shows. It's got drama, comedy, and always ends on a happy note. Well, there's now a military candidate for the reality show. A British soldier gave birth Tuesday at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, and she claims she had no idea she was carrying a child.

The unnamed Royal Artillery gunner, a native of Fiji, gave birth four days after Camp Bastion was attacked by insurgents, according to the BBC.

British pregnancy expert Belinda Phipps, told the Associated Press stress may have played a role in why the soldier was oblivious to her condition:

"It could be that she was so very focused on other things, and because she was in a life-or-death scenario, that she simply didn't recognize that she was pregnant...

"Not everyone has a very big baby bump, some women carry their baby far inside."
The Guardian reports the British Ministry of Defence (that's how they spell it) has sent a team of pediatricians to Camp Bastion to accompany the new mom and baby home to the UK.

I've never been blessed with children, but many moms I know say they simply don't understand how a woman could not know she was pregnant. Agree or disagree?
