Army Staff Sgt. Joe A. Nunezrodriguez, 29, died May 30 in Wardak Province, Afghanistan.
According to the Department of Defense, Nunezrodriguez was killed when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device.
Nunezrodriguez was assigned to the 68th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson in Colorado.
Nunezrodriguez was a native of Pasadena, Texas.
