Skies cleared somewhat Sunday, but San Diego County residents can expect more rain later this week, a National Weather Service forecaster said Sunday.

Starting Wednesday, a weak cold front will bring some precipitation, NWS forecaster Stephen Harrison said.

On Thursday, low pressure and cold air could result in widespread moisture, with the heaviest rainfall predicted for Friday, Harrison said.

That rain could turn into snow for the county's mountain region, Harrison added.

There is potential for flooding and strong winds, especially on Friday, in some areas of the county, he said.

Harrison said that for this past weekend, a half-inch to an inch fell on the county's coast and valley regions, while an inch to 2 inches hit the mountains and some rain was recorded in the desert areas.
