Bahrain Ambassador Talks U.S. Relations
Tom Fudge : The country of Bahrain is tiny by most national measurements. Its population is fewer than a million. It contains only 239 sq. miles. But this group of islands off the coast of Saudi Arabia has oil, and it also holds a very strategic position in a very volatile part of the world. It serves as the location of the U.S. Fifth Navy Fleet , which patrols the Persian Gulf.
Bahrain's ambassador to the United States is in San Diego today to speak at San Diego State. He'll speak as part of a lecture series called In the Name of God: The Role of Religion in Ethnic Conflict Genocide and Terrorism.
Dr. Naser Al Belooshi, the ambassador of Bahrain to the United States, will speak at SDSU tonight as part of the SDSU lecture series, In the Name of God: The Role of Religion in Ethnic Conflict, Genocide, and Terrorism . The lecture will be held at 7p.m. in Hardy Tower, Room 140.
