This state legislative session left Gov. Gavin Newsom with a hefty stack of bills on his desk.

Newsom has until Oct. 13 to sign the bills into law or veto them.

Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, is now back home in San Diego, after this busy and sometimes contentious legislative session.

She joins Midday Edition on Monday to reflect on the legislative session.
