An influx of rain-driven sewage out of Baja California prompted authorities Friday to issue an ocean-pollution warning for Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Border Field State Park.
The alert covers the Pacific shoreline from the U.S.-Mexico border to the southern terminus of Seacoast Drive, according to the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.
Signs warning of contamination hazards will stand along the affected beaches until follow-up testing deems them safe again for recreational uses, the DEH advised.
