Miltary Funeral Protesters Make Enemies with the KKK

Those most unappealing of folks, the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, have made some new enemies in the Ku Klux Klan. The protesters from Westboro (basically the family of Fred Phelps) decided to mark Memorial Day by demonstrating outside Arlington National Cemetery. The counter-protesters? The Knights of the Southern Cross, a local affiliate of the Klan, according to CNN.

Just to give you a refresher, the Westboro Baptist Church is infamous for protesting military funerals because they believe America's "tolerance" of homosexuality has caused the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fred Phelps' daughter, Margie Phelps, successfully argued recently before the Supreme Court that the First Amendment protects the church's right to protest these funerals. The equally despicable Ku Klux Klan is a racist terrorist organization which has gone through many different manifestations over the last 250 years or so.

You'd think these two groups would get along, but CNN reports the Klan objects to Westboro's disrespect of the troops. I wonder if that includes Catholic troops, African-American troops, Jewish troops, troops not born in the United States...?
