Military firefighters are setting and monitoring several controlled burns Saturday at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
The fires, part of routine training regimens at the U.S. Marine Corps station in northern San Diego, are scheduled to being about 10 a.m. and continue for roughly three hours, the base's public-affairs office advised.
People in surrounding communities may see some flames and smoke, but no roadway visibility restrictions or air-quality problems are expected, according to military officials.
