Crews are responding to a brush fire near Winona and University avenues.

The fire was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. in a canyon near the 3800 block of Winona Avenue.

At least two homes have been evacuated, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Crews are fighting the fire from a staging area on Reno Street.
