Residents of two San Diego city council districts go to the polls today to choose new city council members. The seats were left vacant by former councilmen Ralph Inzunza and Michael Zucchet who resigned in July after they were convicted on public corruption charges. Tomorrow, the two men will ask a federal judge to toss out their convictions or give them a new trial. If the judge denies the request, both Zucchet and Inzunza will be sentenced the next day.
