The San Diego Padres will open their home season Thursday against the San Francisco Giants.
This year, fans can expect more than just new faces at the ballpark.
A new pizza spot, sushi spot and expanded seating options are just some of the new amenities at Petco Park for 2015.
Fans will also see a new 7,500-square-foot video board above left field.
Wayne Partello, chief marketing officer of the Padres, said the screen gives fans a new experience during games.
“This is the largest video board in the National League, and the third biggest in baseball,” Partello said. “To put it in perspective, our old screen was one-fifth of this.”
The Padres hope the added entertainment will make for a better fan experience.
“When you’re sitting here it’s like you’re in your living room, but better,” said Partello.
The series against the Giants will feature a special video presentation and a light show.
