Fog Makes Morning Commute More Difficult In San Diego County

Dense fog blanketed San Diego County's coastal areas early Wednesday, making the morning commute more difficult.

"A shallow moist layer has produced areas of dense fog this morning," according to the National Weather Service. "Much of the dense fog is found between 300 and 700 feet elevation near the coast."

The agency issued a dense fog advisory for coastal areas until 9 a.m., when the fog was expected to lift. Until then, visibility was expected to be at a quarter-mile or less in some areas, the weather service said.

The agency advised motorists to slow down, use their low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
