KPBS Releases Its First Digital Series

“Jordan Loves” is available beginning Monday, Nov. 27

KPBS is releasing its first digital series titled “Jordan Loves,” an honest look at the quirky, unique and downright odd features that set San Diego apart, with seven episodes available to watch beginning Monday, Nov. 27. The series is on

“Jordan Loves” is hosted by Jordan Jacobo, a San Diego native bent on exploring the unseen corners and unknown features of San Diego. Ranging from sea caves to burritos, with Jordan viewers will discover aspects of a city they only thought they knew.

“Each of the seven episodes of ‘Jordan Loves’ takes an irreverent view of a San Diego landmark or cultural icon,” says KPBS Director of Programming John Decker. “‘Jordan Loves’ is a bit of a departure for KPBS, which is why I'm excited to share this new series with our audiences.”

“I'm incredibly excited to launch my KPBS series ‘Jordan Loves,’” says host Jacobo. “More than anything, I'm grateful to KPBS for a taking a chance on me. The feedback from the KPBS staff has been invaluable in helping to develop my voice as well as the tone of the show itself.”

“Jordan Loves” is one of seven projects selected from the 2016-2017 KPBS Explore local content project request for proposals.

The KPBS Explore local content project launched in 2012 as a way to create more local programming and solicit content through a competitive proposal process. The project aims to collaborate with local producers on ideas for programs and series that reflect our diverse and dynamic community and allow audiences to connect over shared experiences.

This is the first time KPBS is releasing a digital series.

“I wanted to seed a digital series because there is room for KPBS in the world of web video and I think ‘Jordan Loves’ is a great opportunity to experiment,” says Decker. “It's a mix of historical accuracy and humor and a heavy dose of character.”
