Billie Eilish

Music

Were you lucky enough to get tickets to see alternative pop star Billie Eilish? She’s the hottest ticket of the summer.

The Los Angeles-based artist is only 17, but she’s already being described as a game-changer who is breaking the mold of radio stars. Eilish’s music is a mix of electro-pop with a spooky edge, and her baggy fashion is a deliberate feminist statement.

She’s loved by teens and music snobs alike, which is why her San Diego concert sold out in minutes. But don’t worry, if money is no object, resale tickets are still available.

Details:7:30 p.m. Saturday. Open Air Theatre, 5500 Campanile Drive, SDSU. Sold out, but resale tickets are available here.

Broadway San Diego stages "Miss Saigon," a musical inspired by the opera "Madame Butterfly," but with the story taking place in Saigon during the Vietnam War.

The show concentrates on the relationship between Kim, a Vietnamese farm girl, and Chris, a U.S. Marine. After a whirlwind romance, Chris returns to the United States and gets married, unaware that Kim is waiting for him to return and meet their child.

This is a heartbreaking musical, filled with emotional songs (and some risqué bar scenes). It also brings in a lot of history. So if you plan to go, make sure to brush up on what happened in Vietnam after the war.

Details:7:30 p.m. Friday; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. San Diego Civic Theatre, 1100 Third Ave., downtown. $22 to $150; find tickets to "Miss Saigon."

Hugh Jackman

Theater, Music

Hugh Jackman may be known by movie fans as Marvel’s Wolverine, but he’s also pretty legendary as a Broadway performer.

Jackman stops in San Diego for his first, ever world tour called "The Man. The Music. The Show." where he’ll perform songs from “The Greatest Showman” and “Les Miserables” accompanied by a full orchestra.

It’s an old-fashioned variety show where you can expect Jackman to share personal stories, dance in a few numbers and have lots of flashy costume changes.

Details: 7 p.m. Tuesday. Pechanga Arena San Diego, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., Midway District. $29.50 to $225; find tickets to Hugh Jackman.
