Two soldiers who grew up in California were killed in Afghanistan on December 3rd by an improvised explosive device, according to the Department of Defense.
Sgt. 1st Class Clark A. Corley Jr., 35, of Oxnard and 21-year-old Spc. Thomas J. Mayberry of Springville died in Wardak province, along with 21-year-old Spc. Ryan M. Lumley of Lakeland, Florida.
All three men were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bliss, Texas.
