The First in Line for Hall H are Fans of Twilight

For the second year in a row the first in line for Hall H are the Twilight Moms. But unlike last year, no one is surprised to find them there. In fact multiple news crews were out in full force interviewing them. "Twilight," the teen vampire saga based on Stephenie Meyer's books, scored big at the box office last year and surprised a lot of people. But not the Twilight Moms who were ahead of the curve in gauging the film's popularity.

I hooked up once again with Alison Youngeman of California, Joey Begemen from Ohio and Penny Goodin from Virginia. This year they felt better prepared for waiting in line and sleeping outside the convention center in order to wait for a 1:45 p.m. panel on the next installment of " The Twilight Saga: New Moon." So some brought air mattresses, tents, snacks, drinks, books to read, and games. The key this year was the new Hilton Hotel and closer proximity to their bathrooms and rooms. It's a much shorter walk at 1:00 a.m. to the Hilton than to the old Marriott and Hyatt. Another new thing were some hefty cockroaches running around the planter boxes by the Twilight Moms and causing some excitement. This year, though, many of the women decided that they weren't going to miss out on preview night so they took turns going into the convention and gathering up freebies and, among other things, cool Buffy T-shirts. The women plan to make this camp out a regular event so long as the films keep coming out and the Con keeps holding panels. The circle of friends in line also keeps growing.
