The most popular baby names in San Diego this year: Jacob for boys, and Sophia for girls. Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women has released its top ten list.
You can forget about the old standards like John, Bob, Mary or Nancy. They didn't make the list. Some of last year's favorites like Ethan, Dylan, Samantha and Madison didn't make the cut, either.
Thanks to the popularity of the Twilight movies, Isabella made the number two spot this year. Noah was the runner up name for boys.
Sharp's Nicole Giangregorio said there were some surprises in 2010.
"Logan and Mason made the top ten, and the girl's names, well, Audrey's a new one," said Giangregorio. "Audrey made number ten for our hospital. I think parents are going back to more of the classic names."
Of course, that depends on what you call classic. Gertrude or Archie are nowhere to be seen.
