Writer's Father Depicted in "The Longest Day"

Speaking of war movies (see the last post), Carol Schultz Vento writes about her father, World War II veteran Arthur 'Dutch' Schultz (pictured at right), who was depicted in the classic war film "The Longest Day," which depicts the historic Normandy invasion. Schultz, who was injured on that fateful day, waged a lifelong battle with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to get support for both his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and serious back injury. His daughter Vento, a political scientist, lawyer and member of the Daughters of D-Day, writes:
