A Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in San Marcos was worth nearly $600,000 today, lottery officials said.
The ticket bought at the Circle Market at 202 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road was one of two that missed the roughly $200 million jackpot by just the Mega number. The ticket holder has 180 days to claim winnings of $597,869.
Another ticket sold in North Hollywood also was worth $597,869.
The winning are 36, 49, 18, 6, 40 and mega-number 7.
Friday night's New Year's Eve jackpot will be worth about $237 million.
