Oceanside Lifeguards Close Part Of Shoreline For Several Hours After Hammerhead Shark Sighting

UPDATE: 4:01 P.M., August 14, 2018

Due to a sighting of a hammerhead shark Tuesday, Oceanside lifeguards temporarily closed the city's ocean shoreline from Wisconsin Avenue to Harbor Beach for several hours.

Police officers were on a boat offshore to keep an eye out for the shark, according to city officials,

Tthe affected areas have been reopened after authorities determined that it was no longer in the area.
