President Trump Negotiates Major Trade Deal
The North American Free Trade Agreement will be scrapped for a new trade agreement reached this week between the United States and Mexico. President Donald Trump said it will replace NAFTA, which has been in place since the 1990’s. The U.S. is also negotiating with Canada to join the deal.

Consumer Confidence Highest in Nearly 20 Years
The New York-based Conference Board reported this week that consumer confidence is the highest it has been since October, 2000. Criteria in the rankings include the number of consumers planning to make a major purchase and overall perception of the job market. Consumer confidence rankings are seen as a marker for the nation’s economic health.
Uber Invests in Electric Scooters
Ride-hailing app Uber is reportedly building its own line of electric scooters. While Uber was ahead of the curve in changing the way people get around by car, it’s playing catch-up in a market dominated by companies like Bird and Lime.
Record Labor Day Weekend for Air Travel
Industry analysts say a record 16.5 million people will get on a plane during the Labor Day travel period. The strong economy and affordable ticket prices are credited for the surge.
