State, county and city offices will be closed today in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.
State offices such as the Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed, as will the court system.
County of San Diego administrative offices and libraries also will be closed, but parks will be open.
Administrative offices in the city of San Diego will be closed, as will libraries, recreation centers, the Tecolote Nature Center and Mission Trails Park Visitors Center. Golf courses, the Miramar Landfill and Chollas Lake will be open.
Parking meter regulations will not be enforced today in the city of San Diego, and trash collection will be delayed one day.
Offices, recreation centers and libraries will also be closed in the city of Chula Vista, but trash will be picked up according to the normal schedule.
Metropolitan Transit System buses and trolleys will run on their normal weekday schedules, and emergency services in all jurisdictions will not be affected.
The holiday honors the late Cesar E. Chavez, the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association.
