Hot, Dry Weather Plus Santa Ana Conditions In East County Equal Elevated Fire Danger
San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer was joined by the chiefs of the city's Fire-Rescue and Police Departments on Monday morning to issue a warning.
The county will experience temperatures way above normal and humidity levels way below normal for the next several days. That, combined with Santa Ana winds in East County, means the danger of fire is high.
The mayor urged residents to be on a high state of alert and to be prepared in case a fire breaks out.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokeswoman Mónica Muñoz joined Midday Edition to talk about preparations the city is taking to be ready in case of fire.
