The Department of Defense has identified the two soldiers who lost their lives in Tuesday's insider attack in Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Rex L. Schad, 26, of Edmond, Oklahoma was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart in Georgia.
Schad was born into a military family. Oklahoma television station KWTV-TV spoke with Schad's grandfather, and I've posted that video up top.
Capt. Andrew M. Pedersen-Keel, 28, of South Miami, Florida was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne)at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
Pederson-Keel was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at Westpoint.
Connecticut television station WFSB-TV has more on the life of Pederson-Keel, and the attack that killed him and Staff Sgt. Schad. You can click here to watch that video.
