Odor Produces Alarm on International Space Station

Astronauts aboard the international space station are safe after a chemical leak from an oxygen vent forced them to wear protective masks and gloves. The crew first reported smoke in the station, but it turned out to be an irritant, potassium hydroxide, NASA said.
