As if biking around town searching for art isn’t reward enough on its own, The Tijuego Street-Art Scavenger Hunt selects two winners (one for best photos, one for most photos) and presents them with a membership to MCASD, a gift card to El Take It Easy and a beer from Turista Libre.

Celebrate the Mexican Bicentennial with the Oceanside Museum of Art! They are hosting Looking Back/Moving Forward: Contemporary Mexican-American Art (opening Saturday) which will feature the recent work of Einar and Jamex de la Torre, and Raul Guerrero.
San Diego sculptor Fred Briscoe (he started out as a mason… basically he “rocks” in more way than one), opens his exhibition “Ascent” tomorrow evening at Alexander Salazar Fine Art. The opening reception will take place August 6th.
MUSIC
In the 1980’s UCSD’s Ché Café was home to San Diego’s underground but burgeoning punk and progressive music scene. Thirty years later, at the intersection of historical and hip, the “Ché Underground” blog is attempting to chronicle the scene… and this weekend, at Lestats and Bar Pink they’re bringing the underground back to life with the likes of Jeffery Luck Lucas, The Comeuppance, Thomas E Ward, Wendy Bailey & True Stories, Bombast and a rock-photography show.
This Tuesday at the Casbah, These United States is showcasing their new album "What Lasts." So join them and The Fruit Bats for some folksy rock.
If you’d like little less rock & roll and a little more classical, The San Diego Youth Symphony and Rotary International Youth exchange are presenting the International Youth Symphony, where young musicians from around the world have gathered for a vigorous summer music camp. You can watch the product of this program, and take part in their young musical passion Friday or Saturday.
