Bomb squad personnel have determined that the suspicious object found outside the Vista office of Congressman Darrell Issa was harmless, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
Authorities were called shortly after 1:30 p.m. to investigate the object discovered at the office. The object was a plastic bottle, containing liquid that was not hazardous, he said.
Authorities evacuated the building as a precaution, according to a sheriff's department spokesman.
The building at 1800 Thibodo Road was closed, but has been cleared for re-entry by employees and the public.
