Army Pfc. Brandon L. Buttry, 19, was killed in Afghanistan on November 5 while guarding a watchtower. Buttry was one of 14 children, the child of parents who adopted youngsters from around the world, according to the Omaha World Herald.
Buttry was a native of Shenandoah, Iowa. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, according to the Department of Defense.
