Record flooding in Washington state has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate after torrential rains this week.

The water in California’s mountain snowpack is just shy of average as spring begins, but a winter storm set to hit the Sierra Nevada in the coming days will offer a boost. -
High winds and a slight chance of showers are in the forecast Monday in the mountain and desert areas of San Diego County. -
The most fatalities were in Missouri. Forecasters warned that tornadoes, hail and violent winds continue to threaten states in the Deep South, from Louisiana to Georgia. -
The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality Friday closed the Coronado shoreline as a result of runoff from the Tijuana River reaching the city's beaches. -
More snow and rain is in the forecast Friday for parts of San Diego County and a winter weather advisory is in effect for the mountain areas. But, the weekend is expected to be dry. -
A storm system crossing the U.S. threatens to unleash tornadoes Friday in the Mississippi Valley, blizzards in the northern Plains and dry conditions in Texas and Oklahoma that pose a wildfire risk. -
Schools in the Spencer Valley School District closed at noon Thursday due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. -
A late-winter storm brought widespread showers to the San Diego area, dropping modest amounts of moisture, and another round of rain is on the way Wednesday. -
Rainy weather will return to San Diego County, with heavier, wet conditions and moderate winds starting Tuesday and lingering through the weekend.

The rain will begin falling early Tuesday and continue off an and through Saturday in most parts of the county with a brief break Wednesday.
