If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Comic-Con will be testing their registration site today at 8am with 1000 badges going on sale.
The non-profit organization Comic-Con International has been plagued with repeated problems launching their registration site for next year's convention. They were expecting increased interest for the convention that has been selling out but weren't quite prepared for the 250 hits per second they were receiving when the site initially went live on November 1. That was three times the activity of the previous registration. So now they are trying again with just a 1000 badges going on sale in a live test beginning at 8am.
This past summer the convention attracted some 125,000 attendees and sold out early.
So set your alarm clocks and login on at 8am for your chance to get a four-day membership for Comic-Con 2011. May the Force Be With You!
UPDATE: As of 8:02am it appears all badges were sold. Not surprising if they were again getting 250 hits per second. At that rate it would take less than a minute to sell them.
